Greetings!

Welcome to the official website of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, Phi Kappa Omega Chapter. We are delighted to share all the phenomenal work we are doing in the greater Chicagoland area. I encourage you to explore the various pages of our website to discover more about our amazing sisterhood and impactful service.

This year marks a remarkable milestone for our chapter; 20 PHENOMENAL YEARS! Since our chartering on January 8, 2000, Phi Kappa Omega Chapter has established a phenomenal footprint in the community through our service programs targeting education, health, economics and public assistance. Through our fundraising efforts, we have awarded over $20,000 in scholarships to deserving high school and college students pursuing higher education at universities and collegiate institutions across the country. We have collected and donated hundreds of food baskets, seasonal wraps and coats, eyeglasses and shoes, children’s reading books and a variety of items to support homeless shelters, food pantries and local schools. These efforts would not have been possible without your continued support and partnership, and for that we are sincerely grateful.

I am tremendously honored and delighted to serve as the President of Phi Kappa Omega Chapter, the first Alpha Kappa Alpha chapter chartered in the new millennium. Over the past 20 years, our chapter has developed a rich heritage and vibrant legacy that continues to flourish. Raising the Bar and Setting the Standard will be our focus as we strive to exemplify excellence in sisterhood and service. With the strong foundation established by our beloved founders and cherished charter members, Phi Kappa Omega will continue to fulfill the mission of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® and uphold the commitment to be of “Service to All Mankind”.

We hope you enjoy viewing our website and learning about the phenomenal work of Phi Kappa Omega Chapter.

Sincerely,

Jennifer N. Henderson

Black Dollar 365 Minority Business of the Month

EMECHE CAKERY AND CAFE

We are excited to highlight Emeché Cakery and Café as our Minority Business of the Month for the sororities Black Dollar 365 campaign. Chapter members had the pleasure of indulging in some of their delicacies when the Economic Legacy Committee partnered with the Sisterly Relations and Membership Committees for our ‘Latte Love’ event.  We encourage you to support this business located in the historic Bronzeville neighborhood.  Janell (the owner) needs our help to keep her dream alive during these uncertain times.  Emeché Cakery and Café continue to offer a wide variety of treats, including desert jars, pastries, as well as vegan, and alcohol-infused options. You are welcomed to take advantage of their take-out and delivery services as they have made it their priority to continue servicing the community.   Learn more about the owner and how you can help sustain the café by clicking on the link below. @emechecakery @bronzevillelife
