World Refugee Day

June 20th marked World Refugee Day, an international day of observance dedicated to raising awareness of the situation of refugees throughout the world. Phi Kappa Omega Chapter observed this day by collecting and donating dictionaries to the United African Organization in Chicago, Illinois. The United African Organization promotes social and economic justice, civic participation, and empowerment of African immigrants and refugees in Illinois. They also offer English as a Second Language (ESL) tutoring to children of refugees. This event was organized by the Target 5: Global ImpactCommittee, led by Shaneen Murray.
